Back in the Studio
After nearly five years, Uncle Leon and the Alibis have finally returned to the recording studio to crank out an all-new full-length album. And judging from what we’re hearing so far, this is shaping up to be our best–and most diverse–recording yet.
The new release, Wild Ways, is scheduled to be finished and available by the summer of 2012.
This time, we’re honored to be working with the one-of-a-kind sonic madman, TJ Swan of Velvet Swan Recording, and his incredible collection of vintage gear. This is the real deal, folks: a Manhattan apartment stuffed (literally) to the ceiling with vintage ’40s microphones, ’60s consoles, piles of classic tube amps, and a whole lot of big fat 2″ tape. (For all you hardcore gear nerds, here’s a list of some of the stuff we’re playing with.) Needless to say, we’re enjoying the process.
Our Photos page isn’t quite up and running yet, but if you want the most current peek at what we’re up to in the studio, stop by our Facebook page and check out the Recording 2012 photo album.
